ask any homeless/street person how many jaywalking tickets they have been issued. then ask any man wearing a business suit the same question.
This isn’t about jay-walking, but it is about vagaries of “public” space. Today I was escorted off of SNC Lavalin property. There was a very nice rock in the sun that I thought would be a good place for reading, which it was – for a while. Just about the as I was reading La Pocha Nostra’s position, “No homeland; no fear; no borders; no patriotism; no nation-state; no ideology; no censorship,” I was asked to leave. Don’t know if a suit would have made a difference, apparently the rock is off-limits to employees as well. Very exclusive rock.
ah… i think i know the rock. is it behind the church? i have been politely requested to go elsewhere on more than one occasion…but still. i recommend the rock becasue often you can get away with it and no-one will trek across the lot to come and tell you to …uh, leave.
